Swachh Doud: Run For Cleanliness

Assam Don Bosco University’s NSS Unit organized Swachh Doud: Run for Cleanliness and Swachhata Hi Sewa to celebrate Mahatma Gandhi’s 154th birth anniversary on October 2, 2023.

The event emphasized Gandhi’s values, community engagement, and volunteering. NSS volunteers pledged 100 hours per year for cleanliness initiatives. The Vice-Chancellor, Assam Don Bosco University, flagged off the cleanliness campaign from Tapesia Campus to Medhikuchi Village, involving Shramdaan to pick up litter.

In addition, an awareness programme on cleanliness was held at Medhikuchi LP School, with guest speakers highlighting the importance of cleanliness, personal hygiene, and environmental conservation. The event concluded with a Bihu dance performance and Swachhata Hi Sewa by volunteers.
